Phlebotomy Course Overview This intensive 3-week phlebotomy course is designed to prepare students for a career in healthcare by providing the skills and knowledge needed to perform blood draws and handle specimens accurately. The program combines hands-on training with classroom instruction, ensuring students are confident and competent in venipuncture and related procedures. Course Content 1. Introduction to Phlebotomy: • Role of a phlebotomist in healthcare. • Professionalism, ethics, and communication skills. 2. Anatomy and Physiology: • Circulatory system and vein selection. • Understanding blood components (serum vs. plasma). 3. Venipuncture Techniques: • Proper equipment use and handling. • Order of draw and preventing contamination. 4. Specimen Handling: • Labeling, storage, and transportation of samples. • Using a centrifuge to separate blood components. 5. Medical Terminology: • Common test abbreviations (e.g., CBC, BMP, CMP). • Understanding test purposes and required tubes. 6. Infection Control and Safety: • Personal protective equipment (PPE). • Preventing needle stick injuries and handling biohazards. 7. Hands-On Practice: • Live blood draws on training models and classmates. • Troubleshooting difficult draws. Course Completion Requirements • Attendance and participation in all sessions. • Demonstration of proper venipuncture techniques. • Passing the final written and practical exams with a score of 70% or higher. Looking to get certified to get in Medical field Requirements Over 18 High school Diploma/GED Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and be prepared to pursue entry-level positions or certification in phlebotomy. Payment: A deposit of $200.00 is needed to secure your seat. After registration of 1200 splits in two payments. There are two payment options (after deposit of $200 is secured): 1. Paying in-full, the day before the class. 2. Paying 3 weeks of $400 . Class schedule(3 Weeks): Monday- Tuesday (ONLINE) (5:30 PM-8:30 PM) Wednesday-Thursday (IN-PERSON) (5:30 PM-8:30 PM)
